EQ-Arts has become a member of The Artistic Research Alliance which commits to a shared advocacy strategy at European and international level for artistic research (practice-based and practice-led research in the arts).
Five years after the first meeting that promoted the Vienna Declaration, key organizations from the international field of artistic research came together again to look at what has been achieved, exchange experiences, and develop joint strategies for further advocacy actions in support of artistic research.
Invited by AEC, ELIA and the Society for Artistic Research (SAR), on September 27th 2024, EQ-Arts took part in the discussion on how to amplify our collective voice and drive real change in advocating for artistic research.
During its meeting in Vienna on 27 September 2024, the alliance reiterated the importance of collective action on key policy and funding frameworks, building on foundational documents that continue to be relevant today: The Vienna Declaration on Artistic Research (2020), The “Florence Principles” on the Doctorate in the Arts (2016), and Proposed Changes to the Frascati Manual (2022). Through regular knowledge exchange, the partners will develop and implement a shared advocacy strategy. This will include joint campaigns, policy papers, representation in stakeholder consultations and participation in interdisciplinary forums for policy and discourse development.
